Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Dr7.ai API compatible with the OpenAI SDK?
Yes. The chat completions endpoint accepts the OpenAI request and response format. Set the base URL to https://dr7.ai/api/v1/medical and use any OpenAI SDK. Streaming (stream: true) and image input via image_url are supported.
How do I get an API key?
Sign in with Google, subscribe to Standard, Pro or Clinical+, then create a key in the dashboard. Keys start with sk-dr7- and are sent as a Bearer token. The free plan does not include API access.
How much does the API cost?
Standard, Pro and Clinical+ include $5, $25 and $100 of API credit each month. Calls are billed per 1,000 input and output tokens at the rate shown on each model card, from $0.001 per 1K input tokens. Monthly credit is used first, then purchased credit, which never expires.
What are the rate limits?
Each API key allows 60 requests per minute by default. Email [email protected] if you need a higher limit.
Can I send patient data?
Do not send directly identifiable patient information unless you have a signed data processing agreement with Dr7.ai. Remove names, ID numbers and other identifiers first. Responses are for informational and research use and do not replace professional medical judgment.
