Google Med-Gemini explained β status as of October 2026
Med-Gemini is a family of Gemini models that Google Research and Google DeepMind fine-tuned for medicine and described in research papers in 2024. It was never released: there is no Med-Gemini download, API or app, and Google says it is not a product available for commercial use. The similarly named MedGemma is different β an open model family released in 2025 that anyone can download.
Med-Gemini cannot be used outside Google. Dr7's medical AI chat below is a different system you can use right away: ask a medical question or describe your symptoms. For education only β not a substitute for a doctor.

| 3D CT report generation (Med-Gemini-3D) | 53% of generated reports judged clinically acceptable | arXiv 2405.03162 |
Benchmark scores measure exam-style and research tasks; they do not show that a model is safe for clinical use.

Short, sourced answers
No. As of October 2026 Med-Gemini is still a research model family. Google has not released it as a download, API or app, and states it is not a product available for commercial use.
There is nothing to use, free or paid, because Med-Gemini was never released. MedGemma, Google's open medical model, can be downloaded at no cost under Google's Health AI Developer Foundations terms.
Med-Gemini (2024) is a set of research models fine-tuned from Google's Gemini and described only in papers. MedGemma (2025) is a family of open models based on Gemma 3 that developers can download, run and fine-tune.
No. There is no Med-Gemini API on Google Cloud and no downloadable weights. Developers who want a Google medical model typically use MedGemma, which is on Hugging Face and in Vertex AI Model Garden.
In Google's 2024 paper the best Med-Gemini model scored 91.1% on MedQA (USMLE-style questions) and set a new state of the art on 10 of 14 medical benchmarks. These are Google's own results and could not be checked independently.
